Since the launch of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including divine entities, demons, and sinister influences expanding in strength within the urban setting.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of this adventure lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Introduced
The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the premier party of heroes who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, apart from the remaining groups.
This warrior group includes Teor Pridesire (brought to life by Travis Willingham), the nimble rogue (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
The Reason for Division
Considering a large ensemble, it was obvious from the outset that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Planners, and Questers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
As described by the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy narrative style where diplomatic options are few and far between.
Upon first impression, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might seem unsuited, but the actions of episode 3 demonstrate why these specific adventurers are best suited for the warrior group.
Why They Must Go
To begin with, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose demise kicked off the campaign’s events—exploited the foes for his personal gain, breaking into the hidden lair, attacking the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The traitor then cleared his liabilities and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of the urban center, with Cyd close behind.
Individual Reasons
Secondly, each member has a specific drive to depart the metropolitan area:
- Thimble, as the companion and best friend, seeks revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and warns that it is a hostile place.
- The warrior and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to execute the fighter and instead saved him, have nowhere else to go.
- Yet, their status as key figures in the influential clan could help the party enter areas they usually can’t.
- Moreover, The grateful character pledged a unbreakable promise to The cleric for his deliverance and will now go with him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are sought by the rulers that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and Wicander turned against the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are partnered with.
- The fighter is wanted dead by the family.
This means them no alternative but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Future Episodes
Based on the latest episode’s follow-up content, we discover that the Soldiers table will be absent next week, leaving the rest of the players to form the Questers and Schemers groups.
Viewers can anticipate learning which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on the upcoming Thursday.
